Leanne's Lifestyle Session
The best time to catch the trees still covered in snow is early in the morning, before it has a chance to melt. We in fact did not successfully start early in the morning, but I'm so happy it worked out! I woke up to snow in the middle of the night and excitedly sent Leanne a message hoping she had time in the morning to shoot since we wanted snow. Thankfully she did! I spent some time trying to find a nice location that wasn't plowed yet. Our first choice of a north shore beach was a complete bust as there were giant dump trucks moving all the sand around, and work being done to the boardwalk!! Trying out downtown Northport didn't work either since everything had been shoveled and it looked messy, but I lucked out with a park in Huntington! Unfortunately Leanne's GPS took her to the wrong park, all the way on the south shore! We hadn't even started yet, and we were having such an adventure!! :) The wait and location scouting absolutely paid off and we got some amazing shots in the snow as everything was melting around us. Sure we got some snow falling on our heads and on my camera when we were under the trees, but it was all part of the fun! It doesn't hurt that Leanne models regularly, she was great to work with and we went through the whole park super quick. There were so many fun moments and I can't wait for our next adventure!
